Letter from the Editor

For those of you who are returning visitors, I would like to welcome you back, for without you we would not be here at this moment.

You have my undying gratitude and when we finally get back to baseball parks as fans, the first round is on me.

For the new visitor or the passer-through, I would like to bestow a fond greeting upon you and welcome you to our little hot corner of the internet.

I hope you’ll enjoy your stay.

As you may know, BallNine is approaching our fourth month of existence and allow me to say those four months have been quite the whirlwind.

From the nights this past spring with me and Josh Hejka staying up until all hours trying to get a baseball website live to now, I feel like I (and BallNine) have lived about twelve lives.

During these four months we have gone from a “lightbulb above the head” type idea to a fully functional site who has gained recognition from players, fans and media types alike – much to the detriment of my sleep schedule and often times, sanity.

But I wouldn’t have it any other way.

When Rocco Constantino and I went to the APBPA dinner back in January 2020 and we wound up sitting with guys like Rod Carew, Dennis Lamp and many more, I knew BallNine had to happen.

The stories we heard were unlike any baseball stories of which I could have dreamt. Funny, human, bizarre… you name it, we heard it.

Later that night on the drive home we decided we needed to bring these stories to baseball fans, and we set out to do just that.

Lo and behold, here we are in August 2020 re-launching BallNine.com with a brand spanking new look and feel that I personally believe is unparalleled in the baseball world.

The content we bring you speaks for itself. Now the design provides me the impetus to make the content even better; I feel that striving to be greater than the day before is the ultimate challenge – and one I do not take lightly.

Now, I don’t want to keep you here too long reading the “Letter from the editor page”, so I’ll close with this.

I’m proud to call our staff family. And like all families, we may be a little dysfunctional.

But I can promise you this… you get a seat at the dinner table with us? You’re in for a real treat.

Now go. Enjoy the site.

I’ve kept you long enough.

 El Jefe –

Now he likes to spend his time talking about the absurdities of baseball and training desert animals that kill.
