20 Years Later

On September 21, 2001 – 20 years ago today – the New York Mets defeated the Atlanta Braves 3-2 at Shea Stadium. Widely known as “The Mike Piazza Game”, it was the first Major League Baseball game played in New York after the events of 9/11.

Host Chris Vitali is joined by former Mets pitcher Glendon Rusch as well as BallNine’s Kevin Kernan and Rocco Constantino in part one of a special two part Roundhouse – and in this episode they discuss the game and events before and prior from 2001, what it meant to each of them and the city of New York, and more..

This is one you won’t want to miss.

Chris is the Founder & Editor-in-Chief of BallNine and was the other half of the battery for the 1986 Belleville Recreation Farm League Champion Indians. Sometimes answers to "Willie Randolph Hearst". After a few years as a touring musician he decided to become a Chef, a position he held until the industry almost killed him. Now he likes to spend his time talking about the absurdities of baseball and training desert animals that kill.
